Restorative Dentistry
Endodontics & Root Canal
Pain-free root canal treatment that saves your natural tooth. Modern rotary techniques and precise anaesthesia make the experience far more comfortable than most patients expect.
When to Seek Treatment
Signs You May Need a Root Canal
Persistent Toothache
A continuous or recurring ache — particularly when biting or applying pressure — often signals infection inside the tooth pulp.
Sensitivity to Temperature
Lingering pain after exposure to hot or cold that does not resolve within a few seconds indicates the nerve may be affected.
Swelling or Tenderness
Gum swelling, tenderness, or a small pimple-like bump near the tooth root points to an abscess that requires immediate treatment.
Darkening of the Tooth
Discolouration of a single tooth — turning grey or dark — suggests the internal pulp tissue has died and needs removal.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, do not delay. An untreated infection can spread to surrounding teeth and bone. Early treatment almost always means a simpler, faster procedure.
The Procedure
What to Expect, Step by Step
Digital X-Ray Assessment
We begin with a digital X-ray and, where needed, a CBCT scan to map the root canal anatomy precisely before touching the tooth.
Anaesthesia & Isolation
Local anaesthetic ensures you feel nothing. A rubber dam isolates the tooth, keeping it sterile and your airway protected throughout.
Pulp Removal & Canal Shaping
Rotary nickel-titanium files gently remove infected pulp and shape each canal to the correct taper — precisely and without trauma.
Irrigation & Disinfection
The canals are flushed with sodium hypochlorite and EDTA to eliminate bacteria and dissolve any remaining organic tissue.
Obturation & Sealing
Gutta-percha fills and seals the cleaned canals permanently, preventing re-infection. A build-up core restores the crown height.
Crown Restoration
Most root-canal-treated teeth receive a ceramic crown — fabricated in our in-house lab — to restore full strength and aesthetics.
Modern Endodontics
It Does Not Have to Hurt
The reputation of root canal treatment as painful belongs to a different era. With modern rotary instruments, precise anaesthetic technique, and a calm, unhurried approach, the majority of our patients report feeling only slight pressure — nothing more.
Most procedures are completed in a single session. Where complexity demands two visits, the second is brief — typically only the final seal and crown preparation.
